"You want HOW MUCH?"

There are some pine nuts out there being sold. But not very much, so they can charge outrageous prices for them. I stopped by a table on the side of the road and asked how much a pound was. They told me they didn't measure them by pounds only by a plastic cup, I think. 1 cup was $10; 2 cups was $15; and about 3 cups was $20! Can you believe it? I was just shocked! Everyone is still bummed that there weren't enough pine nuts this year. But good things come to those who wait..........right?

Bad News!

Well unfortunately this year, because of the heat, there are no pine nuts. I could tell Grandpa was a disappointed. He looks forward to this time of year. But he says it has happened before. Hopefully it won't effect his well being. So we will keep you updated on Grandpa, but as for the Pine Nuts.........until next time!

Herman Keiser

This site is going to be dedicated to one of Herman Keiser's favorite past times. Pine Nuts. He is currently 99 years old, and folks have been saying that he has been selling pine nuts for well over 100 years. We have taken over the business from him and hope to continue that legacy for as long as possible. This site will hopefully update everyone on the schedule and time frame for pine nuts in the fall of 2007. If you have any questions please feel free to ask as I will hopefully have the answer. Here is the man that started it all.

You can't talk about Herman if you don't talk about his biggest support of so many years. This is a picture a few years old of Herman and Florence Keiser.

This is the old house where up until last year was the best place in the Salt Lake Valley to find fresh Nevada Soft Shell Pine Nuts.
